The top 2-and 3-year-old trotters and pacers in the state of Indiana descended upon Hoosier Park Racing & Casino on  to battle it out in the $220,000 Indiana Sires Stakes Super Finals in front of a packed house on a beautiful, evening.

 

On The Virg (Always A Virgin - Modern Bobbi) won in 1:52.4 in the 2 year old division for pacing colts and geldings, taking home his sixth win of the season.

 

Seventimesavirgin (Always A Virgin - Miss Grant Seven) won the $220,000 ISS Super Final in 1:50.3 for 3 year old pacing fillies and remains undefeated in the stakes.

Always B Miki paces fastest mile in Standardbred history

Oct. 9 - Lexington, KY --- Making his move for the top midway down the backstretch, Always B Miki set fast fractions before driver David Miller implored him through the stretch, advancing to win the $138,000 Allerage Farms Open Pace in an all-time record mile of 1:46 on Sunday (Oct. 9) at The Red Mile.

Always B Miki broke the old world record of 1:46.1, set by Cambest in a time trial at the Illinois State Fair in Springfield in 1993. The previous race mark of 1:46.4 was shared by four horses -- Holborn Hanover, Somebeachsomewhere, Warrawee Needy and He's Watching. .... read the complete story

Alway B Miki To Diamond Creek In 2017

World champion Always B Miki p, 1:47f ($2,338,176), who holds the distinction of winning three races in 1:47 in a single season – no other horse has more than one 1:47 or faster mile – will be retired to stud duty at Diamond Creek Farm in Pennsylvania at the end of his 2016 racing campaign.

He is scheduled to compete in the Allerage on Sunday at the Red Mile and then complete his career at the Meadowlands Racetrack in the Breeders Crown and TVG Free-For-All.

Feed Your Head, bred by Bluestone Farms, Carol Agins, and Steven Arak wins in Kindergarten Classic

Vernon, NY --- Trainers Jimmy Takter and Julie Miller each captured two $10,000 Kindergarten Classic preliminary trotting events on Thursday (Aug. 18) evening's 13-race card at Vernon Downs.

Takter completed his stakes double in the tenth with Mellby Gard Inc.'s Feed Your Head ($5.20), a pillar-to-post winner in rein to Yannick Gingras. The daughter of Muscle Hill and Flawless Bluestone seized command of the terms early and held clear of pocket rival Spending Spree (John Campbell) by 1-3/4 lengths in 1:57.

Dream Together sweeps Pure Ivory

CAMPBELLVILLE, August 15 – The combination of driver Sylvain Filion and trainer Luc Blais has been red hot at Mohawk Racetrack and Monday night was no different, as they teamed up to capture the Pure Ivory Series final and Preferred Trot.

A daughter of Muscle Hill, Dream Together lived up to her 1/5 billing and went gate to wire for a 1:56.1 victory. The rookie trotting filly and driver Filion set fractions of :28.2, :58.2 and 1:28.2.

MOHAWK --Dream Together followed up her 1:58.2 score last week with an impressive 1:57 triumph in the second leg of the Pure Ivory Series Monday (Aug. 8) at Mohawk Racetrack.

Propulsion (5m Muscle Hill-Danae-Andover Hall) held gamely for Orjan Kihlstrom, harness racing trainer Daniel Reden and Stall Zet to win the Gr. I UET Masters Series Norbottens Stora Prix at Boden.

The 2140 meter autostart test drew ten starters for the €190,629 purse.

The winner was US-bred by F.V. Caldwell of Lexington and Bluestone Farm. Propulsion now has a career slate of 15-2-4 in 30 starts for earnings of 3,404,296SEK.

Now in his eighth year at stud, Always A Virgin made national headlines last year as the sire of Breeders Crown champions Always B Miki p,3,1:47.4 ($1,228,076) and Color's A Virgin p,4,1:49.2s ($1,046,818).

“We want to thank everyone who booked to Always A Virgin this year,” said Maria King of Victory Hill Farm in La Grange, Ind., where Always A Virgin stood for a fee of $4,000 in 2016.
