Cane Run Farm Tops Lexington Select Yearling Sale

  • For the five days of the Lexington Select Yearling Sale Cane Run Farm averaged $164,500 - nearly three times the average for the entire sale of $60,997. The next closest consignor averaged $87,217.
  • Cane Run was eighth in gross sales of all consigners with $1,645,000.
  • Cane Run represented 8 yearlings jointly owned with Bluestone Farms.  Together they grossed $1,450,000. The average for the Cane Run Farm’s/ Bluestone Farms’ yearlings was $181,250.
  • Bluestone sold one additional yearling in the Northwood Bloodstock consignment - a colt by Always B Miki from the Somebeachsomewhere mare, Storm Point, for $130,000.
  • Bluestone also purchased two colts by Always B Miki - Hip #32 out of the All American Harnessbreds consignment and Hip #218 from the Peninsula Farm Consignment.

Cane Run Farm and Bluestone Farms bred Propulsion wins dramatic Masters-final

September 7, 2019 — Propulsion, driven by Ôrjan Kihlström, won the European Trotting Masters final with a winner’s purse $190,000 dollars at Vincennes, Paris Saturday afternoon (September 7).

 

However, just 100 yards before the finish line it, looked as the French trotting gelding Cleangame with trainer/driver Jean Michel Bazire was going to win. But Cleangame suddenly went off stride and Propulsion managed to hold off a late charge from the French mare, Bahia Quesnot with trainer/driver Junior Guelpa to win.

On August 2, 2015, a prominent Swedish trainer returned to the U.S. to fulfill an earlier wish. Daniel Redén was the successful bidder on Propulsion at the Meadowlands Summer Mixed Sale, bringing home the sales topper for Brixton Medical AB of Orsundsbro, Sweden. The young stallion sold for $210,000. It was the second time Redén had pursued Propulsion, a Muscle Hill son out of the Andover Hall mare Danae 3,1:54.2 ($529,099).

July 13, 2018  --- The son of Always A Virgin-Has An Attitude is now two-for-two in 2018. Scoring in 1:51.4 with John DeLong in the bike, Egomania recorded his second consecutive win at Hoosier Park and made a clean sweep of the first round of Indiana Sires Stakes action this season. The 1:51.4 clocking established a national season’s mark for 2-year-old pacing colts on a seven-eighths-mile oval and was a new lifetime best for the rookie pacer.

Two-year-old trotting filliy, Fate Smiled wins her division of the Pennsylvania All-Stars Stake at The Downs at Mohegan Sun Pocono on Tuesday (July 10).

Matt Kakaley was able to rally Fate Smiled from the pocket to a head victory in 1:58.4, just catching pacesetting Fraulein Blucher (Cantab Hall-Frau Blucher). For A Dreamer scores in Pa. Stallion Series

For A Dreamer wins division of the Pa. Stallion Series for three-year-old trotting colts. The son of Cantab Hall from the Bluestone owned mare For A Dancer gained command in front of the stands and went on to win in 1:55, a time which equaled his mark taken in a qualifier. Corey Callahan handled the sulky assignment for trainer Bob Stewart and the partnership of Bluestone Farms, S. Steven Arak, Brianna Fenn, and Norman Corn.

Propulsion: Again, second in the Elitloppet

Bred and sold by Bluestone Farms and Cane Run Farm, Propulsion finished second to Ringostar Treb in this year's version of the Elitloppet.  A full brother to Propulsion sells at the Lexington Select Yearling sale in the Cane Run Consignment this fall.
