Bar Hopping wins Zweig
Vernon, N.Y.-July 24 Bar Hopping, and Flowers N Songs proved victorious in their respective main events of the Dr. Harry M. Zweig Memorial for harness racing 3-year-old trotters at Vernon Downs.
Bar Hopping used an aggressive middle move to seize command in the $300,000 Zweig main event for colts and geldings, brushing from fifth and clearing just after a :57 half mile. Princess Face became Queen of Aby
Full post of Queen Silvia's Cup for Björn Goop and Lutfi Kolgjini when Princess Face fulfilled favorite expectations.
"Ludde" and Björn Goop won the most that can be won, but before Saturday, none of them had been standing at the top of the podium after Queen Silvia Cup.
But now they have it both. Last year's Oaks runner-up Princess Face took the victory and the first prize of 928,830 kronor after having stayed away from the line in a tight finish.
"Scamp" was satisfied.
" It's incredible. I love this horse, we've had some problems with her, but I have always believed in the horse. She has a heart of gold and a dazzling technique; an accomplished horse, said Lutfi Kolgjini after the victory."
Princess Face and Goop slipped into the lead in the first turn and then took over from Treasure Kronos. 500 was clocked by 11.7. With 1350 still took Angel Rain kit and placed on death row. The yard was 12.3.
The tempo was kept remained high. From the last bend Angel Rain fell over at a gallop, and thus missed a prominent place. Untersteiner had piloted the front Bang Otrobanda on the inner track and invested now in full swing on the open stretch.
Otrobanda shot to dramatically and rapidly approached the Princess Face, but the well-bred daughter Muscle Hill defended themselves and held off by a small margin.
It was simply buckle up and go, summed Goop race victory interview.
Winning time stopped at 1.13,1a over 2140 meters. Princess Face took this his fourth victory in the 14th race. Otrobanda really positive as second, third prize went to Treasure Kronos.
