Resolve's book full and closed

Southwind Farms and Tara Hills Stud have announced that the book for world champion Resolve 4,1:50.4 ($2,621,086), the richest son of champion sire Muscle Hill, in North America, is full and closed.
"We are delighted that breeders throughout Canada and the United States have supported our new stallion." "The response to him has been overwhelming and we look forward to the 2018 breeding season", said David Heffering of Tara Hills.

Muscle Hill offspring top HB opener at $320,000

Nov. 6 2017 Harrisburg

A total of 43 yearlings brought six-figure prices in the opening session, with the topper Hip 112, a Muscle Hill colt out of Sheer Glide, selling to Mario Mazza for $320,000. Consigned by Peninsula Farm for John Floren's Coyote Wynd Farms, the colt named Sheer Muscle is the first foal of his dam, a daughter of Yankee Glide who took a mark of 1:54. And as the opening session was winding down, Hip 162, a Muscle Hill full sister to Kentucky Filly Futurity winner Ice Attraction, consigned by Preferred Equine for David P. Reid  and Stephen Dey III, was purchased with a $320,000 bid by Ontario horseman Clark Beelby, who signed the ticket for Florens.

What The Hill dominated his division foes again as he won the $527,500 Breeders Crown 3-Year-Old Colt and Gelding Trot at Hoosier Park Saturday night in 1:52.3. David Miller drove the winner.

RESOLVE TO STAND  AT TARA HILLS STUD

World Champion RESOLVE 4,1:50.4 ($2,614,574) (Muscle Hill – Anikawiesahalee- Credit Winner),

the fastest and richest son of champion sire Muscle Hill in North America, will be retired to stud

at the conclusion of the racing season and stand at Tara Hills Stud in Port Perry, Ontario, under the

management of Southwind Farms.

Owned by Hans Enggren of Abbottstown, Pennsylvania, who acquired  him in a private transaction

at the beginning of his three year old season, RESOLVE achieved international success under the

tutelage of trainer Ake Svanstadt.

His 18 victories include the International Trot at Yonkers in a World Record 2:23.4h, the Maple Leaf Trot

at Mohawk, The Cashman Memorial, Cutler Memorial (twice) TVG elim and Final at The Meadowlands.

He took his mark of 1:50.4 winning the Vincennes Trot also at The Meadowlands. He competed in the

Elitlopp twice, finishing second to Nuncio in 2016 and third to Timoko and Propulsion in 2017.

Bred in Ontario by Edward Wilson of Seagrave and Michael Pozefsky of Saratoga Springs, RESOLVE was

a $115,000 Harrisburg Yearling Sale graduate.

Frozen semen will be available in Sweden through PONESIA AB/Sievert Ingvarsson.

The stud fee for the 2018 breeding season will be $7500CD.  For inquiries please contact either

Ariana G crushes in Breeders Crown 3YOFT

As co-owner Marvin Katz made his way to the winner's circle for another celebration with Ariana G, the word he used to best describe the 3-year-old female trotter was "fantastic." He could have chosen others, including dominant.

Ariana G won Friday night's $500,000 Breeders Crown for 3-year-old female trotters by 5¼ lengths over Ice Attraction in 1:54.3 over a sloppy track at Hoosier Park.

Manchego romps in Breeders Crown 2YOFT

Oct. 27 Hoosier Park
Manchego became the first undefeated 2-year-old female trotter to win a Breeders Crown, capturing Friday night's $600,000 final by 4¼ lengths over Seviyorum in 1:54.4 over a sloppy track at Hoosier Park. Phaetosive finished third.

Oct. 15 - London, Ontario - Mohawk Seelster tops second London session at $220,000

Mohawk Seelster fetched the highest price of the second session of the London Selected Yearling Sale as the inaugural two-day sale concluded in London, Ont. on Sunday (October 15).

 

Mohawk Seelster sold for $220,000 to Millar Farms of Stouffville, Ont. A son of Sportswriter - Macapelo Rose, Mohawk Seelster is a half-brother to speedy pacing mare Mayhem Seelster p, 2, 1:53s, 3, 1:51.3s -'16 ($392,395).

Oct. 6 2017 - Southwind Bugz steals the show for $335,000 at Lexington Selected Sale

Hip No. 368, Southwind Bugz, a son of Muscle Hill-Missymae Bluestone, is now owned by Kenneth Jacobs. Consigned by Preferred Equine Inc. and raised by Southwind Farms, the bay colt entered the arena with a regal air as the bidding ensued around him.

Oct. 4 2017 - Walner Retired, Being Syndicated

On Wednesday morning (October 4), while at her stable on the Red Mile backstretch, Toscano and Walner's owner, Ken Jacobs, confirmed the colt is officially retired from racing and that there was a deal "in principle" for Walner to stand at stud at Southwind Farm in New Jersey next year.

August 28, 2017 - Muscle Hill Daughter in Australasian Breeders Crown Finals at Tabcorp Park Melton Race 9 YABBY DAM RACING BREEDERS CROWN SERIES 19 (3YO TROTTING FILLIES Dance Craze, A brilliantly bred Muscle Hill filly from the top racemare La Coocaracha,  was far too good for the opposition today at Tabcorp Park Melton in this breeders Crown division. A Yabby Dam Farm bred, trained and owned filly Dance Craze won the Yabby Dam Farm sponsored race with ease. Her record is 10 starts, seven wins for $94,260 in earnings to date.

US-bred Propulsion sets 1:49.3 Swedish mark

Propulsion, a 6-year-old stallion by Muscle Hill-Danae, bred by Rikki Caldwell of Cane Run Farm and Bluestone Farms, set a Swedish record of 1:49.3 when he won the Hugo Aberg Memorial on Tuesday night at the five-eighths mile Jagersro track in Malmo, Sweden. Muscle Hill colt tops Swedish sale at $365,000

The annual yearling sale of horseman Lufti Kolgjini was held Monday night in Sweden and a colt by Muscle Hill set a new Swedish record when he was sold for 3 million Swedish krona. That is approximately $365,000.

 

The colt, named Nagamori Hill, is a half brother to the accomplished Lavec Kronos and Raja Mirchi. Lennart Agren's SRF Stable, known in the US for purchasing yearlings and racing such notables as Obrigado, bred the colt. The buyer was Anders Strom's Courant AB, also well known in the US for both buying yearlings and racing horses, among them Cruzado dela Noche and Tamla Celeber S.

Vivacious Allie sets PASS mark; Sire Sweep for Muscle Hill Fillies

July 11 - The Meadows
A handful for Aaron Merriman for much of the mile, Vivacious Allie got her act together in the Lightning Lane and broke her maiden in a stakes-record 1:55 in Tuesday’s $167,016 Pennsylvania Sires Stakes at The Meadows.

The event for freshman filly trotters, known as the Meadow Gladys, was contested over four divisions, with Manchego, Front Circle and Special Hill taking the other splits. Yannick Gingras and trainer Jimmy Takter teamed for a stakes double with Manchego and Special Hill. The four winning fillies provided a sire’s sweep for their dad, Muscle Hill.
