Delaware, OH — After using a sustained first-over drive to win his elimination earlier in the day, Southwind Ozzi and driver Brian Sears came back with nearly a carbon copy effort to capture the $384,000 Little Brown Jug final for 3-year-old male pacers Thursday (Sept. 19) at the Delaware County Fairgrounds.
Southwind Ozzi won the final by 1-3/4 lengths over Fast N First in 1:50.1. American Mercury finished third.

Anderson, IN — For the second time in one week, a track record was lowered over Hoosier Park’s seven-eighths mile oval, marking the seventh track record that has been re-established this season. After stopping the timer in 1:51.3, Southwind Chrome and driver Sam Widger lowered the track record for older trotting horses in the featured event of the evening, the $20,000 Open Trot, on Saturday (Sept. 14).

Father Patrick colt Synergy got up the rail to win by the narrowest of margins in Friday’s $182,876 Champlain Stakes for 2-year-old trotters at Woodbine Mohawk Park.
A full field of 10 rookies met up for the Grand Circuit contest. Per Engblom trainee Synergy went off as the slight favourite over Luc Blais’ Port Perry and the two rookies would be connected throughout.

Southwind Ozzi, who won the 2019 Delvin Miller Adios Pace for the Orchids with the second-fastest time in the race’s 53-year history, Friday made a triumphal return to The Meadows, easily capturing a Pennsylvania Sires Stake split with another sub-1:50 effort. Crimson And Chrome sprang a 21-1 upset in the other division of the $170,058 event, known as the Tarport Effrat, for 3-year-old colt and gelding pacers.

Five weeks after undergoing emergency surgery for hernia repair, Southwind Ozzi blazed to victory for Brian Sears in 1:48 in Saturday's $400,000 final of the Delvin Miller Adios Pace for the Orchids at The Meadows. It was the second-fastest mile in the 53-year history of the Adios, missing Bolt The Duer's 1:47.4 record (2012) by a tick.

The Harness Racing Museum & Hall of Fame is pleased to announce the two broodmares that will be inducted into the Living Horse Hall of Fame on July 7 in Goshen, NY.
The Living Horse Hall of Fame Committee recently voted for broodmares using the criteria implemented in 2018. Eligible mares for consideration are producers of two Dan Patch Award winners, two millionaires or one Dan Patch and one millionaire, or those nominated by a committee member.
Tactical Landing granted exemption from Stallion Restriction Rules

Toledo, OH--- On Jan. 7, 2019, Jeff Gural granted Tactical Landing an exemption from the Stallion Restriction Rule due to an injury he suffered while racing.
The exemption means that Tactical Landing’s first crop of foals and those thereafter will be eligible to compete in all stakes at The Meadowlands, Tioga Downs and Vernon Downs that include the Stallion Restriction Condition.
Tactical Landing stands at Southwind Farms and his book for 2019 is full and closed.
